Where The Sun Smiles

Just like the way the sunshine brightly in Alanya, its history is also well known and felt everywhere. This beautiful city was built with the stones accumulated over thousands of years. The most remarkable characteristic of ‘Kalekent', which is in the midst of the waters surrounding the peninsula towards the Mediterranean, is that it has remained lively with people. A similar weight stone dating back to the antiquity and hanging on the loom of the old woman weaving a piece of cloth in the garden of her house in the citadel has been exhibited in the museum. There are four museums in Alanya. Alanya is surrounded by some cities of antiquity that will take a long time to be visited. Alanya is an important centre of the Mediterranean when its history is considered.

Damlataş Cave was visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists during the Sacrifice Festival. Three thousands of people in four days visited the cave that was equipped by security cameras. The world-famous cave which is known for the closeness to the city and famous for the asthma treatment had been the place bor not only the local tourists but also the tourist groups.

The people living at the South are making the most of the sun when the snow started to show its el f with its all trial at the other regions of Turkey. The tourists are contuniuning to have sunbathing at the Damlatas Beach in Alanya. The weather is 20 degrees Celcius. The village roads at the east of Turkey is closed because of the snow while the tourist are telling that the time for the sea and sun is still not late in Alanya.

The Turkey-Kazakhstan Tourism Conferance which will be h el d with the cooperation of Akdeniz University Alanya Management Faculty and Auezov and Ablai Khan Universities in Kazakhstan takes place in Alanya Municipality Culture Centre and continiues till the 23rd of November. The 40 representatives from different countries will participate and 136 announcements will be read at the conferance. It will continue between 09.30 and 17.30.

The sixteenth of the Triathlon will be h el d on 18th of October 2006 in Alanya. The race will be constituted from 1.5 kilometres swimming, 40 kilometres cycling and 10 kilometres running. Alanya Municipality started to the preparations of the triathlon. The registration of the triathlon can be done from www.triathlon.org.tr and approximat el y 300 sportsmen from different countries is expected to the race. Everybody is invited to the triathlon to live that enthusiasm and to witness a world-wide famous contest which will be materialized like a festival.

Old tourists are prefering Alanya especially at the months of September and October. At these months which the tourism season is near to finish, el der tourists' rush to the beaches are continuing.They explain the reason for this season being favourite by more calm city and ideal temperature.

2006/2007 school year has been started at 18th of september in Türkiye. We wish to have successful year to all students!

The fourth of the traditional jazz days will be between the 14 th and 17 th of September in Alanya. The concerts began with very much interest to “Pluma Band”. They will continue with very successful concerts which are consist of important musicians.

Street Basketball
The sixth of International Alanya Street Basketball Tournament will be on 15th of August.There will be a very big ceremony with more than 50 teams from ABD to Russia.

The sand city in Lara Beach which is opened in June 2006 is visited by more than fifty thousand people. The subjects are choosen from the “anatolian legends” and more than hundred works are exhibited at the sand city. Those anatolian legends are created by the famous world artists in eigth thousand metres square area.The sand city can be visited between the dates14th of June and 20th of October from 10 o’clock in the morning till midnigth.
